Michael:

Hello there, this is living your success 24 seven, with Michael Cain in the house, cain in the house, cain in the house. So I hope all my listeners are doing well and if you're not, there's ways to turn that around. That's the whole purpose of my show, my calling my purpose. My intent is to be your coach, motivator and chair leader and to hopefully give you the tools to transform into who you want to be. Oh, lovely goal. Yeah, my goal is to inspire you to take action, and a lot of times people get inspired but it doesn't result in action. So in that part is up to you, because me and anyone else can talk all day, but if you're not willing to take the steps necessary, which is action, the difference between dreams and reality is the action. So, please, I encourage you to take action on things you hear from this show and other shows you may watch or listen to. So my show is called living your success and it's not just about financial success, even though that's a large part of it, but it's only part of my plan. What other kind of success? Well, perhaps you have a hobby and you love doing that hobby and it makes you happy. That's success. What about relational on various levels, romantic, maybe you have a significant other, a spouse or someone significant to you, and it's successful. And what about if you have children and you're raising them and you just have a good time with them, even though sometimes you know they challenge you, and so you love your children and you love spending time with them and helping young people to grow into well adjusted adults? That's successful. If you do that full time, that's a full time job. Right there, I agree with that. Full time job, very, no less important, by the way, than going out to a job where you get a check, you earn wages, you earn it from a company. So that's success. Friends good friends ride and die, back you up. They're good, bad and ugly. They're there. That's success.

Michael:

Health, the biggest one, even more than money, because if you don't have that health, you're not counting your dollars, you really not. You're not thinking about oh gosh, you know the income paying taxes on it. You're not thinking about anything if you're on deaf store doorstep. So good, health is success. And if you love animals, love animals part of the family, not just pets. Part of family. You see them, greet you when you come in and you just love when they sit on your lap or in the bed with you. That's success your job, your career. You love your job, career or you're okay with it. It may not be your desired employment, but you're okay and it pays the bills and allows you to travel, allows you to buy stuff, save stuff, invest stuff. That's success.

Michael:

You see, I know some podcasts focus on one or the other, but my podcast is about you. You are the star, you are the central focus of the story that you are writing and producing and filming. You are the star, not me, I'm just a facilitator, coach. Hey, go, go, go, rah, rah, rah and give you and help you on your journey, this journey of life, life journey, right? So let's pick a topic out of here.

Michael:

I do feel like talking about money today. When you hear the word money, what's the first thing that comes to mind? Be honest, is it oh, wow, I got so much of it. Or oh, my God, I can't pay the electricity bill tomorrow? What do you feel? What pops up? Oh, I gotta game, get more of it so I can take care of my parents, my children, my life, pay or have fun. What comes to mind Now?

Michael:

It all comes out to also not just the situation you're in at the moment, but your values, because we each have may not have the same values when it comes to M-O-N-E-Y. M-o-n-e-y you may see it as comforting or see it as anguish or lack, or abundance of desperation. So what comes to mind to take care of your family, to go on vacations and develop and create memories. And so what comes to mind and my point is, and where I'm going with this is your relationship with M-O-N-E-Y. What's your relationship yeah, it's like your spouse, your friend, coworkers.

Michael:

What's your relationship with money? Because, if you want, if you embrace it, that is a tool. Money is nothing but a tool, and that's how you should see it, because that's all it is. But it's a necessary tool Because, guess what, when you go out in the real world, just getting gas in your car, go and get groceries for your family, going on a vacation, they want money, whether it's cash, electronic, digital, they want money, rightfully so. If you operated a business, the whole point, there could be multiple points of providing necessary jobs for people, livelihoods, but at the end of the day, you have to be profitable, otherwise you will cease to exist. So some people want to twist it up and they talk about, well, the love of money. Yeah, if your whole focus is the money and just nothing else, that could be even on paper, you're successful. It could be a millionaire, billionaire, whatever well-to-do it could be something lacking in your life because of your focus.

Michael:

I'm not going to it's not me to judge, to say you're misguided, but it seems hollow, appears to be hollow, without a greater sense of purpose in one's life, but teaches on. So what do you think? Money, come on anyway. I said it. What do you feel? And to me, when I hear it, let me go first it's a desire. I want to get as much as that tool of what you call money as possible so I could do things rewarding in life.

Michael:

Okay, now we can have noble causes, but I'm talking about for you and your family. Now, your family doesn't necessarily mean blood when I say family. It could be good old friends. You've been friends for 20, 30, 40 years and you're there to support each other all this time. You're the yin and yang. You help each other through rough times, good times there to celebrate, there to cry. That's family. It doesn't have to be blood or married into.

Michael:

Okay, I see it as a more expansive definition. And so now with money, it's important to know where it's going. I know you heard the hateful word budget, to know where your money's going. But then also we don't want to neglect the money coming in to do our part, to get to experience promotional opportunities at our job, to promote and get a boost of income 5%, 10%, raise, bonuses and stuff like that. Because that allows you more. It allows you the opportunity to pay for the necessities of life, like a mortgage, school debt for your children or yourself, put food on the table, gas in your cars. But it allows you freedom. So I look at it as gosh what I can do with it.

Michael:

And so, and not to be greedy, because greedy implies you're like taking something from someone else, taking advantage of people, and that, yeah, that's bad, that's bad. We don't want to do that. We're gonna have the utmost in integrity, right and accountability, caring and respect of others and ourselves. Respect ourselves, don't respect yourself. You're not gonna respect other people. So all these things that it allows you to do is most important to me, not just for what it is, but what it does, and so I look back and reflect from the past, and I encourage you to do this too, where you grade yourself and say A, you get an A or C or an F.

Michael:

Okay, did I spend my financial resources properly or did I blow it and waste it? Was it foolish, that decision? And that's why it's good to educate yourself on personal finance where, and to know who you are with your values, because your values are going to help point you in that direction, toward that value. Again, I don't want to get into the judgment of necessarily judging each value of people. It is what it is. But if you make bonehead decisions continually, one after another, and I reach your goals, well, I hope you recognize. Well, you made ten foolish decisions and that's why you have a lack of money.

Michael:

Living beyond your means is foolish. I did that, that's my confession. Living beyond my means Very foolish indeed. Since I recognize that foolishness and I'm willing and my heart is there and open to turn it around, I'm in a better place than I was Five years ago, eight years ago. I'm now look, I still are paying awesome debt myself because of the past, but I'm gaining traction and it's still got a while, but I'm moving closer to the promised land, taking longer than I want, but I'm in an OK place where, hey, I'm not just surviving so and I have the means to correct the past too, and that's why not giving up, not give quitting, is important.

Michael:

So I encourage you not to give up and quit on. No matter how bad it looks, no matter how deep the scars that you have experienced, there's another day. Do not give up. Hope, the four letter word that you should use, and believe in hope and the belief in yourself To see a better day, to see a better life. Tomorrow's not promised folks. So I want a lot of fire under you here. Let me say life, a lot of fire under your butt, some sense of urgency, not a panic urgency, but urgency to take action. Take aggressive action depending on your challenges. The deeper the trouble, then the more expansive the action.

Michael:

Right, ok, in the past I've had to get to have two jobs and live just scraping a little meat off the bones. Been there, done that. That was a result of not being smart with money. Who you going to point your finger at? Ok, now, people can mislead you, but people do what you allow too, and I've been swindled before and didn't see that coming. Well, I can tell you now I can see stuff coming now, but after I got experience of that, so you can learn from other people's experience, like I'm telling you now. Learn from the experience.

Michael:

I'm telling you just be careful and that you do your homework and research before you spend money. That's like when you're looking in the market to buy a car, people are spending and not including the insurance, just the paying a loan off or the fee $6,000, $800, $900, $1,000 a month, good God, and they don't have money for anything else Got to eat, can't live without food, but you can live without an expensive car payment. You can get a one that you can afford and you know it's all based on what you can afford, and I mean with being able to save and invest and have an emergency fund and live life to the fullest. That's the definition I'm using. So you want to develop your money power, the power of money, not to hurt people, because there's some people go to one extreme oh, they just think about money. Yeah, if you don't have it, you got a problem. If you don't think you have a problem, you're in denial and it's so bad. That's your life. And there's other people to the extreme Get as much as possible, but not living life, hoarding it, not having fun, being greedy, stingy and all that other stuff. That's not good either. I'm looking for a middle road of balance. So that's what I encourage you to have is a healthy balance.

Michael:

To live your life and what's your value? Make a money value statement. You should do that. Money, but money means to be me. That could be the title of your chapter, your story what money means to me. And I encourage you to buy books on the subject budget saving or a book on motivating. I have a book, oh yeah, right, I do that. Encourage you to buy. This is not about money. This is to tell stories which is motivating in nature Personal growth, development book, slaying your dragons, living the life. In fact, the subtitle is the most powerful part of it Living the life you always wanted.

Michael:

I wanted to write a book because I thought it was about me. I wanted to say gosh, man, tired of making all these mistakes. I'm tired of wanting to move forward with my life. I want to build something great where I can relax. A lot of people, unfortunately, will be they're born and they will work until they drop dead. Do you want that? It will work till they drop dead without having any fun in the middle, this thing called life. I don't want that. I didn't want that to be me. So I said, you know what? Getting too old to be foolish and to play around playing games with myself. And so I scrutinized money coming in, money going out, what's necessary, or having fun living life. Because life is short, life is short.

Michael:

One of my presentations I mentioned that the wealthiest place on earth is a graveyard, a cemetery, where people that didn't do what they wanted to do, they didn't put themselves in a position financially to do what they wanted to do in this life, which can be short. I don't want that to be me. I want my children, my wife, friends. So my target is to live and be free and not just be bound and shackles to a job, even a job I love, but you still have shackles when Monday, wednesday, thursday, friday. I want to design my life where I can get up and say today I will go to the movies, tomorrow I will get on a plane and go somewhere Spain, let's say because I can do that, I want to be able to do that, or I want to be able to bless somebody to do that, so they can go, you know, they can have a good Christmas, good birthday. I want to bless other people too that I believe pay their dues and they're still a little bit inclined with things out of their control.

Michael:

A lot of stuff is out of your control and you plan for percentage. I've been in a leadership role for many years and I know you can plan your day all you want, but there's going to be 20, 25% of your day is going to blow up and going to be totally out of your control. You didn't see that train coming. That's this reality. Same thing with your personal life. You're not going to see that train coming, and that train could be. Oh, I didn't know. The car was going to break down. Well, that's why you have five, six hundred dollars in that account to go toward repair of your car, because at some point you're going to need to. You know things break, things break down. So they have that cushion there where you can write that three hundred dollar, five hundred dollar check with not sweating Right.

Michael:

So what does money mean to you? Mean something, and if you can't define it, that's a problem too. What your value is or what you want to do, that's a problem too. You're kind of out there floating in the wind and not living life intentionally. And the greatest power you can have, my friends, the greatest power, is to live intentionally. And there's some excellent books out there already Dr Wayne Dyer, of, yeah, intentionality, right, other people too out there, other books on money too.

Michael:

But please, I encourage you to go on amazoncom, your Amazon, and look for my book, michael Kane, kane Slanger Dragons Slanger Dragons Living the Life you Always Wanted. So I encourage you to do that. But for me, I have an online version of ebook If you have an ebook reader most economical or you can get the paperback version with the second most economical. Here's a hard cover too, but you don't have to do that, just get the paperback. I'm plugging my book, that's right. My show, my book, so, and I believe you can benefit by reading it. Self-serving truth because I wrote it. But a lot of things I talk about on this podcast is reflected in my book, saying your Dragons Living the Life you Always Wanted. So go to Amazoncom, buy your copy, ebook or paperback Not expensive. So I appreciate that and recommend, please recommend my book plus this show Living your Life.

Michael:

Living your Life whose show is that? Living your Success? You know what it is. It is about living your life. Actually, that's what inspired this show. It's like living your life and that's really like a, it's not a misnomer, it's a to be almost part B or A, however you want to see it. It's like living. Michael is saying living your life, living your success is living your life. It's a synonym when I say living your life. Okay, so live your life. And how are you gonna live your life? Yeah, this is the same show Live your Life, living your Success. Success is life. The more life you have, the more success you have Living it abundantly.

Michael:

So live your life, people, and see, it's more specific, isn't it? Living your life, living your success? 24, seven, they go hand in hand. And my show and my book is about to live your life and not let it pass you by, okay, so to clear that up. So money is my friend. Okay, now, if you see money as your enemy, you're gonna repel it and it view universe oh, not to get too metaphysical on you, too religious on you, but if you see it as a negative, bad thing, then you're not gonna go as far as you could go, unless you don't embrace it for what money can do and how it can change your life Most like a commercial, a money commercial. Maybe I should do one money commercial. This is about money, folks, okay and so no, it's about living your life to the fullest extent that you can, and you will be if you take care of this business I'm talking about and the psychology of money. There's a book on that too Psychology of money psychology.

Michael:

How do you feel, how did you know you could have been raised where in lack? And so now you have money, you just can't spend it on yourself or anyone. Nothing, you're not damaged, there's nothing wrong with you. It's understandable. But you just have to live and spend money to live and have fun and not miserable. Maybe your childhood wasn't pleasant, wasn't the way what you wanted or what you expected, Not like those happy people on TV, like the Brady Bunch and A Partridge family, even though they had issues and challenges too, but they were a family unit. Maybe you didn't grow up that way, with the family, entire family unit. It was all broken and it was despair and it was abuse. Maybe it was lack, it was a whole bunch of negative things. So your psychology of money could be different from the other person who lived in a functional household, but true, the truest of true family members. Or he lived in a family that cut each other up.

Michael:

But take back your power. You have the power. You have the power, okay, you have the power within you to change your life, to make a difference, to be who you were meant to be. I'm walking and walk with you. I am walking with you on that one, so that's it.

Michael:

I appreciate you taking the time to listen to my show. It's a privilege. If I could just help one person out there, I will have succeeded today. Of course I wanna help millions. Help me build my show when I could be talking to millions and millions wanna listen to me and say what is this guy have to offer? So I'm living in my zone.

Michael:

My goal is to help others, simple as that. And so I want to build my company to the point where I can help as many people as possible and expand and instead of one book out, I can have 10 books out there. So that's going to take some time, but I want at least 10 books out there. I want to speak more. I do speak engagements and I coach and help people, and I want to do more of that, but to the point where I can still enjoy my life and not be, you know, overdoing it either, but you know it's about what you need to do at that point in time.

Michael:

So, anyway, so you can catch, if you're listening to me now, you got to me. However, you could be listening to Apple, spotify or, I heart radio, amazon music. However, if you got me on my website, livingyoursuccesscom, or Facebook or Twitter, however, you got me. I encourage you, or Instagram, to continue to listen and and hopefully, you enjoy it and, better yet, that you got something out of it. So, anyway, I love talking to you and thank you again. And so that's it. You have a good day and keep keep moving forward, folks. Until next time. My friends, this is Michael King, with livingyoursuccess 24 seven. Thank you, adios.
